After a long hiatus, the indolentcreature has felt the urge to blog. I hope this new found initiative lasts for a while. I've immensely enjoyed my travels in the past couple years, and I though it'll be nice to share my wanderlust with others. I plan to post a couple photographs every week, and hopefully you guys will find them interesting enough. I've archived/deleted my old photographs. Starting afresh is always nice.
Here's the first of (hopefully) many such posts :)

Where : Mirror lakes, Fiordland National Park, South Island, New Zealand
When: Summer '07, Roadtrip
Photographer: Me, Canon SD 800
Last year I did a fabulous roadtrip in NZ with a couple of friends. NZ was true to its word, a fantasy land: beautiful, dramatic and surreal (you're gonna be seeing me use this word pretty frequently). This was taken on the way to Milford Sound, a remote part of the park, arguably one of the most beautiful places in the world. I thought the Sepia tone would bring out the reflection more distinctively. I cherish this pic a lot! I remember all of us being numbed by the beauty, and staring at the scene for a long time before we realized we ought to make it Milford Sound soon so that daylight wouldn't give up on us.

Very cool pic. But I am not convinced that sepia is the best choice for bringout the reflection. I think a B/W or Vivid with an emphasis on blue could have been a better choice
How bout sending my fukin pics??
I agree many pictures look 'surreal' with a sepia tone, but I also think this particular pic will be better in its original colour if the emphasis is on the reflection. :)... em antavu?
Nice one! I haven't seen this photograph in any other tone but I have a feeling what Ash says might make the picture look better. You should probably put that one up, as well.
@ Willie: yes dude, Sorry for the delay. Will do it soon. Or shoot me a reminder sometime :-)
@ Ash, Anon, Abhi: Thanks for the comments! I'll put up the pic color in the next post - and we'll let others be the jury :-)
@ Anon: Coolkey, right?
