One such place is Point Atkinson, and the trail head is hidden in a quiet and upscale suburb of West Vancouver. The rainforest trail opens out to the ocean on a small cliff, unfortunately the access is cut off beyond a point 'coz the lighthouse keeper's family maintains a private drive way. There was a weird reference to the first white kid born in British Columbia on an inscription.
We were fortunate to visit the place at dusk, and the dark clouds on the horizon combined with the sun's fading brilliance to present an enthralling sight. Again, my obsession with sepia is obvious here... but I'm sure it tells the story.

Here's a follow-up to the last post ...
Since most people disagreed with me on the effectiveness of the sepia tone in bringing out the reflection with clarity, here's the picture in color:

<click>Where</click>: Mirror lakes, Fiordland National Park, South Island, New Zealand
When: Summer '07, Roadtrip
Photographer, Camera: Me, Canon SD 800

And here's this weeks pic:

Where: Death Valley National Park, California, USA
When: Spring break, 2006
Photographer, Camera: Me, Olympus (Krishna's camera)

So we (me and a bunch of friends) were having awesome fun rolling in the huge sand dunes in Death Valley, which is by the way a land of magnificient extremes. A must-see for anyone living in the US, I'd say. And yeah, as the sand-dune-rolling continued, the sunset was quick, dramatic and transient, with hues changing by the second. Even a certain Mr.Dali would have been enraptured by this awesome sight. This photograph was taken during the dying moments of sunset, with the rays illuminating the edge of the desert and the contours of the Pantamint mountains. Breathtaking and spiritual.

After a long hiatus, the indolentcreature has felt the urge to blog. I hope this new found initiative lasts for a while. I've immensely enjoyed my travels in the past couple years, and I though it'll be nice to share my wanderlust with others. I plan to post a couple photographs every week, and hopefully you guys will find them interesting enough. I've archived/deleted my old photographs. NZ was true to its word, a fantasy land: beautiful, dramatic and surreal (you're gonna be seeing me use this word pretty frequently). This was taken on the way to Milford Sound, a remote part of the park, arguably one of the most beautiful places in the world. I thought the Sepia tone would bring out the reflection more distinctively. I cherish this pic a lot! I remember all of us being numbed by the beauty, and staring at the scene for a long time before we realized we ought to make it Milford Sound soon so that daylight wouldn't give up on us.
